Piazza di Brancoli | Medieval Stone Farmhouse
Offered at $600,000

Located on a pristine and historically preserved mountain, this medieval stone farmhouse in  the hill town village of Piazza di Brancoli  has been sensitively restored to respectfully honor traditions and accommodate today’s interests with comfortable sophistication.

The house offers 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and is sited within a fully fenced yard and encircled by a stone terrace. The grounds are composed of backyard with garden area and storage shed, fruit and nut trees, a detached 2 story barn with utilities and adjacent olive grove.

Designed by a cook, the kitchen is a dream itself! The outdoor forno is available for pizza and breadmaking. This is a foodie’s dream: olive oil from the property’s own olive grove, garden herbs and fruit, honey and vegetables from the village, mushrooms and chestnuts gathered on walks.

Piazza di Brancoli is the oldest and uppermost village on this historically preserved mountain in the Garfagnana region of Tuscany.  Strategically located, it was founded by the Roman soldiers who manned the lookout tower; the Roman road meanders past the house and all over the mountain. Thirty-five curves take you up to an authentic pristine piece of paradise in this village of 75 people. Chestnut forests and numerous springs, streams and waterfalls compliment the terraced hillside of olive groves and grape vines. Walking paths traverse the hills between the villages. The famous walled city of Lucca is 12 km away.  The Mediterranean coast  is a 40 minute drive, as is Florence.  Door-to-door, the Pisa airport is one hour away.
